This note card set features the stunning paintings and drawings of Dogtown Common by American modernist Marsden Hartley (1877-1943). Hartley visited Cape Ann and Dogtown just a handful of times, between 1920 and 1936, but carried a vision of the area with him throughout the rest of his life.

With each card you send, you can share the natural beauty of Cape Ann to those both near and far!

Set of 8 cards—2 each of the following 4 different images:

  • Rock Doxology, 1931. Oil on canvas. Gift of Robert L. and Elizabeth French, 2009.
  • Summer Outward Bound, Gloucester, 1931. Oil on board. Gift of Robert L. and Elizabeth French, 2009.
  • Rocks, Dogtown, 1931. Ink on paper. Museum purchase.
