Compiled and Transcribed by the Staff and Volunteers of the Cape Ann Museum; Edited by Paul McGeary

This book charts 12 voyages made by Captain Elias Davis (1758-1821) between 1781 and 1788 and was transcribed from the original logbooks in the possession today of Harvard University's Houghton Library. Today, the Captain Elias Davis House, built c. 1804, is the anchor of the Cape Ann Museum's galleries in Gloucester's Historic District. The house became the first home of the Museum in the mid-1920s, and today, four rooms in keeping with life in the Early 19th Century are now open to Museum visitors.
